There are a number of other festivals and events in Hua Hin held throughout the year. These include food and wine festivals, motor shows, art fairs, markets, fairgrounds, music festivals, charity events, and parties. | 1st. The beginning of the western new year is a national holiday in Thailand, one of three "new year" holidays celebrated every year. Christmas and New Year are peak times in Hua Hin. |
| February |
| 7th. The beginning of the Chinese lunar year is celebrated in the Chinatowns of every city throughout Thailand. Some businesses close for the day, but it is not a national holiday. Hua Hin gets very busy over Chinese new year and dragon dances can be seen in the streets.
21st. Makha Bucha celebrates the Buddha's first sermon to his disciples. It is a national holiday.

8th/9th.* The 10th Thailand International Kite Festival is being held at The Rama VI camp in Cha Am, Phetchaburi. Many different types of kites can be seen, ranging from small to large. There will be fast kiting, night shows and stunt shows together with many other displays, shopping and food. Acivities commence at 10.00 hrs and continue until 20.30 hrs on both days [ photos ].

| 6th. Chakri Day commemorates the founding of the current dynasty, Rama I. Some businesses may be closed on Monday 7th as well.
13/14/15th. Songkran is the traditional Thai new year, generally celebrated as a water festival. Songkran in Hua Hin only occurs on the 13th when the streets downtown are packed with revellers, prepare to get wet!
14th-18th. The 13th Hua Hin International Cricket Sixes Tournament takes place at The Dusit Resort. A great day out for all the family and a chance to see some international stars.

| 1st. International labor day is celebrated as a national holiday.
5th. Coronation day celebrates the day in 1949 when the current king was crowned.
19th. Visakha Bucha Day. This is the holiest Buddha day and celebrates the birth, enlightenment and entry into nirvana of the Buddha. |

7th/8th. Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2008, Hua Hin's 7th annual jazz festival promises to be bigger and better than last year.
Dates may vary but its usually the first weekend in June [ photos ]. |
| July |
17th. Asanha Bucha Day. This commemorates the first sermon Buddha gave to his first five disciples. It is always held on the day before the start of Buddhist Lent.
18th. Khao Phansa, this day marks the beginning of the Buddhist 'lent' period, a time when monks are supposed to retreat to their temples while new life springs forth. |

| 12th. Her Majesty the Queen's birthday is a national holiday, also serving as the country's Mothers Day as well.

| 14th. End of Buddhist Lent.
23rd. Chulalongkorn Day celebrates the birthday of one of Thailand's most revered kings.

| 13th. Loy Kratong is not a national holiday, but an evening when Thais pay respect to the goddess of the waters by floating candlelit offerings on any and all waterways around the Kingdom. Hua Hin beach gets especially busy on Loy Kratong night.
