Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if there are any WiFi hotspots in HH. Paid for or free, doesn't matter.
Cheers BaanOz
Edit: sorry, I see there is a "Digital Realm" section. Should be in there I guess. |

| I don't know about Wifi, but adsl internet shops are all over in Hua Hin. You will spend only 25 bath per hour. Or in most hotels has adsl in the lobby. But hot spots I doubt it but if you know one please let me know too. |

Hi playboy,
Thanks.
I need to use my own computer (rather then an internet cafe) and a "hotspot" would be easier then setting up GPRS on a mobile or pre-paid dial-up using hotel phones. Call me lazy!

As far as I know there aren't any. There's one in Springfield (20km north) and Evason have a 1Mbit WiFi system available for guest use but its a bit of a trek - 30km south.
Unless you've got some heavy FTP to do you're probably better off with the pre-paid cards or plugging into the LAN and re-configuring your laptop. |

OK thanks for that buksida, I'll try one of the other ways.
Cheers BaanOz
Edit: Hey people, if that's the case (not having WiFi in Hua Hin) anyone with a cafe or restaurant might attract customers if you put one in and charge a nominal amount! |

| According to their websites, The Marriott, Sofitel, and (possibly) Starbucks in Hua Hin all have WIFI access. |

Hi Rice King,
Thanks for that. I'm back from holidays now and tried out KSC who run wi-fi in many Starbucks:
http://www.ksc.net/Item.aspx?Channel=16&Item=1131&Page=1
I applied for a hotspot card and got a receipt from them but no username/password to use.
I think my wife spent the same amount of the card (I bought online) calling KSC numerous times trying to sort out the problem and we eventually gave up on using their wi-fi. Jeez they are dumb f's on the telephone.
There maybe free wi-fi spots but I need something reliable.
The reason I need it is for trading and in future I will just use AIS on my mobile with GPRS to connect plus a backup of just using dial-up. I think/hope it will be more reliable!
Regards BaanOz
BTW we stayed in Cha Am a top spot. Very quiet there due to the Tsumamis but Hua Hin was VERY busy when we visited there a couple of times. That beach in HH is awesome!!!
We hope to spend a couple of weeks in Hua Hin during June this year and see more of the area. |
