Oh, on a side note, there don't seem to be any wireless signals in Condo Chain. |

Not sure why you say that - I wanted to test the speed of my CDMA wireless connection, not the speed of the general internet between Asia and North America. The more local the speed test server, the better, as long as the traffic goes through my CDMA modem. A server across the street would be perfect. |
Theres no point unless you will be using your connection to upload and download data to a local sever (which you maybe doing so can ignore my comments). The moment you look at an international web page you are downloading data from outside Thailand and will get a realistic but much slower connection speed - all to do with bandwidth bottlenecks at CAT. Effectively its like comparing the speed results between an intranet and the internet, one gives a much faster but less practical result.
You also went on to talk about web surfing and bittorrent so I presumed you are not looking at primarily Thai websites, hence my comment. It also served as a notice to others not to use Thai speed tests if they want a realistic and practical result. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

I wanted to isolate the element that I just paid the baht for, i.e. the CDMA connection, and test solely its speed.
That was in order to inform the forum about how good the Hutch connection is. Not about how fast the internet is in Thailand or internationally, my opinion on which probably interests no one.
On the caution not to use local speed tests as an indication of what you can expect to see in real-world use, you and I are in absolute agreement. |

Fair enough but I still can't see the point as it will never operate at that speed. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |
