The rate you quoted for 29/1 was for notes over the counter.
You get a better rate when the money is sent via bank transfer.
For example the T/T rate on the 29th. was 65.30 Baht to the pound. Considerably more than 64.45.
As you say though for relatively small amounts sent regularly ,convenience is more important than a few Baht.
It makes a big difference though if you are sending a lump sum.
