If you like your steak basic and steak dinnerish then El Murf's yer man - in my humble the best steak in town hands down.
If you like your steak fancy but still tasty and edible (but more expensive with fancy trimmings) then the Paris Brasserie or China White in the karaoke district are the two I would plumb for. _________________ If I can't smoke and swear I'm f****d!

Well, as nobody has mentioned Ye Olde Buffalo Tavern for our steaks (even in a derogatory fashion), we have Australian Black Angus Ribeye, Sirloin or Rump. Come and try, I will offer for anybody that wants to partake that mentions this quote, that if you can seriously say you don’t like, you don’t have to pay. This offer go’s for our famous Pork Spare Ribs also.
Please ask for me, I am there most nights at the moment. (Bill) |

Bill,
Now that you mention it, we did try your place 5 or 6 years ago when you were located on Damnoern Kasem Road just down from the Jed Pee Nong Hotel. Both the food and service were so abysmal that we vowed never to return again.
A lot of water has passed under the bridge since. If your offer still stands for when I next visit in May, I might consider giving it a go.
If the offer stands, I will turn up unannounced, and put an unbiased, honest report on this site - do you want to take up the challenge? _________________ Green Army position 21

Once again the infamous Buffalo Bill here,
Well Big Boy. Now I mention it. I was talking about nowadays 2007 nearly 2008 with a whole new concept, not 5 or six years ago in another location (seems like worlds ago). I’m sorry your experience of visiting our restaurant 6 years ago on that one occasion was so ‘abysmal’ but if you had spoken to me about it on the night,(did you) I’m sure something would have been done about it at the time. I think six years later the statute of limitations has expired.
Our aim is to serve good food at reasonable prices. Obviously we do have problems (trials and tribulations of owning your own business, especially in Thailand) but our aim is to please and be fair. Of course I would like to welcome you back in person but as for a challenge, well I’m really getting a bit too long in the tooth for all that. Please make yourself known to me next time and then we can have a laugh and you can write an unbiased or biased account of our steaks or even our staff and service if you like, there’s no need for anonymity. Is there? I don’t bite.
Who knows I may be buying more beer!
And by the way Randy, Cornhole cant be your real name can it? Cornhole! WOW got quite a ring to it hasn’t it! Lol |

Bill,
It really was an abysmal experience, but as you have said, it was a long time ago. You must be doing something right to still be around after all of this time.
As for the night in question, there did not seem to be a Farang in residence - I assume you are Farang with a name like Bill.
I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, and I'm sure Mrs BB will be on board if I don't tell her its the same place (she tends to hold a grudge a lot longer than I do). We'll tell her afterwards, otherwise she'll be prejudging.
All being well, we'll see you in May. _________________ Green Army position 21

Had a delicious sumptuous plate o' ribs at Buffalos a week ago and the Christmas party was a riot, Elvis, Tina Turner, Tom Jones and of course starring Buffalo Bill in person. Great night |

Well, seeing as there were so many posts about the best steak in town mostly for Eddie’s place (El Murphy’s) where I’m sure the steak is good… BUT.
We didn’t seem to have many people come and take up our offer (shocked I must say, not one chancer).
We are confident that we wouldn’t have to buy any steaks or any of our famous fall off the bone spare ribs (as promised in our earlier post). When I read all the posts it sounded like there was some spoofing going on? |
