|
I have been using my laptop for some time now, but i really would like to buy a new home computer.
What should i look for with regards to system/memory and so on.
I dont want to buy one that will be outdated within a year.
Does anyone out there know what i can expect to get over here and what sort of price.
Thanx in advance.

Certainly do. First thing you need to ask is what do you want to do on it?
A standard computer for office use, internet and the basics should cost around 15,000 baht and consist of the following:
Pentium 4 or AMD 2.4GHz CPU
512MB RAM
120GB HDD
CDRW
Onboard Graphics, Sound and LAN
17" Screen
A higher spec machine for gaming and graphics work will cost upwards of 25,000 baht and have the following in it:
P4 or AMD 3.0GHz CPU
1GB RAM
250GB HDD
DVDRW
256MB DirectX 9 Graphics card
SB sound
17" LCD screen
These are just rough specs, read this for more info on computers in Hua Hin:

Or give us some more details. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

No matter what you buy at least some of it WILL be outdated in a year. It is the nature of the business, there are so many developments.
First decide what your budget is and then decide what use you are going to put it to.
Be careful of some deals they look good but could end up with equipment/programms you don't need and will never use.
Gaming needs a fast processor, lots of RAM and a good video card.
CAD work would be similar.
General home use it needs a less high spec.
You need to taylor the machine to your needs and budget.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt.
I am told that i should stay clear of made up computers ie not a brand name.
I want one that has back-up on the internet for when problems arise.
Can anyone tell me which brand of computer has the best internet back-up and is available out here.
Ie Hewlett Packard, Dell and so on.
Thanx ST |
