Sorry to be vague but about 2 years ago 2 new places were built on the sea front.

They are just past the Marriott where there a couple of linked Soi's with lots of small guesthouses, Lang, A & B, Nilawan etc and always motorbike taxis outside.

At the bottom of the Soi's is a small track leading to the beach and these hotels are either side.

The one on the left as you go to the beach down this track has a restaurant overlooking the sea and a kind of small waterfall running down its length from the pool I think.

Does anyone know what this is called and any reports from staying there ?

Thanking you in advance.

I think its called the Veranda, though there is another Veranda resort in town.

Havent stayed there but did try the restaurant once, the service was shocking ... we left.

Pagey, one on the left is called Veranda lodge, have stayed there for a couple of nights when my usual place Chan Chay was full. Its ok with 12 double rooms and 6 suites. It leads to its own beachside restaurant called Veranda grill which is not buksy's favourite but I have not had a problem there but prefered it in its previous state which more resembled a laid back Chaweng beach bar.
The one on the other side is called Baan Bayan and is top end but beautifully built and furnished but also fairly expensive but I do plan to stay there for 2 nights in october while viet embassy in BKK do my visa.
However if you like Thai architecture the owners of the Veranda have built around the most beautiful Thai house which is fairly overlooked now but 5 years ago it stood alone it was quite stunning. If you want more detail on the hotels you will have to PM me.Digger

Thanks Guys.

Found Verandah Lodge on internet finally but its too pricey for me although I like the location just out of town where the beaches are less busy.

Digger, I did PM you but no reply and I leave today.

I think the Veranda Lodge on the Internet is the one in Cha-Am by the Springfield Resort. That one is very 5* and expensive, the Veranda near the Marriot is a lot cheaper.

I found them both, Cha am and Hua Hin one.

I am here now so went to look at Verandah. Cheapest room is 2500 Baht and is tiny with tiny balcony. Not worth the money.

Staying at place directly behind, Baan Chan Chay or something ?? Bigger room and very big balcony. I like to chill before I go out and when I come back with a beer or whiskey.
