we live Samorprong, my Thai partner is on the phone everytime it is cut of she is good and very persistant.
The latest information she got was the water is being turned off by rotation to roads on the West side of the canal. Between the canal and sea no problem. She asked what times it would be on and the reply was daily for a short time but the answer was evasive.
The reason given for this is a shortage of water.
This will continue until the water shortage is over.
It also means the further you live from the canal the less chace you have because the water has further to travel and is only turned on for a shot time.
I will post any further info or excuses they come up with. _________________ Woke up this morning breathing I thought this is a good start to the day. |

I had my doubts a little while ago when the water board told my wife (and others on the forum) that the problem was down to a burst mains in Pranburi.
That might have had something to do with it, but rationing has always been the main cause of water supply disruption and it sounds like this is the case again.
We'll be making sure that our tank is as full as we can get it at all times. I don't for a moment believe that our water will not be turned off again at some point in the future. I've seen this happen too many times in HH. _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

Given there is a water shortage its reassuring to see the tankers spraying the grass in the central reservation on PK road ! _________________ A man is not truly dead unless he is also forgotten. |

You have to wonder just where some priority's are:

As the Bhumibol dam plans to release more water to meet the needs of Songkran revellers, farmers in Chiang Mai's Doi Saket district are fighting over water to feed their drought-hit paddy fields.
Tanarat Poommakasikorn, deputy director of the dam in Tak, said yesterday an extra five million cubic metres of water will be released daily from the dam during the five-day-long Songkran Festival, which begins next weekend, to ensure there is enough water to splash around by holidaymakers.
The extra volume will increase the discharge from 38 million cubic metres of water to 43 million cubic metres per day during that period, he said.
Mr Tanarat urged Songkran celebrants to carefully use water as the dam also needs to have enough water for generating electricity to meet the rising demand in summer.
In Chiang Mai, a water shortage has reached crisis point in some villages as farmers have been seen engaging in fistfights over water to feed their farms. ............................... _________________ May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead! |

We paid 140k for the last one including a filtration plant .The pump sits 103m down in a limestone cave .The system easily supplies 4 large houses and could do a couple more, many more with a large holding tank .
We have had no problems with water supply in Nong Pran Puk this year and have not had to use the wellwater(which you can drink !) .Wish I could say the same about the electric .Some mutant ran a loory through one of the posts and then another mutant rewired it all .We all got bills 3x the normal rate and after my neighbour complained about his electric devices blowing up he found he had 380 volts to his household power points !
The local mayor sorted it out and gave us a free meal with drinks .Lucky for us expatkat has spare bedrooms .
