Sounds interesting.
Is that link right? Think you might have misspelt it.

This looks very similar to the one at Cha Am. Or rather near Cha Am called Cha Am fihery , which is actually 15km north of cha am. I caught a 32kg specimen which took nearly an hour and left me totally nackered, needed many chang to ensure recovery. I will visit this new one but don't want any more monster fish far to much like work.

Hi everyone - this is my first posting to HHAD,
My name is Terry Theobald and I am the owner of Hua Hin Fishing Lodge.
This is a new venture for me & the family, but we have lived in Hua Hin for many years and know the area very well.
It is a fledgling business and I am trying to creat a place where anglers can enjoy some challenging fishing but also have a break from the town.

We are building accommodation right now and should have a full restaurant service and shop by July this year.

As of now, you will not find hundreds of huge catfish as can be caught at Cha-Am Fishing Park, rather we have a much greater variety offering, I hope, some challenging hours chilling out.

The lakes are maturing well and by the end of this year we should have many fish in excess of 6+ kg. We stocked the ponds with over 2,500 fish.

We DO have several specimen Giant Mekong Catfish which all weighed in between 42kg and 49kg when they were put into the ponds some 15 months ago. Nobody has ever caught one but they make their prescence known often enough.

We have excellant Pacu, Pla Kohor, Tapien, Red Devil several varieties of Carp and many others to tempt you.

So - if you fancy some lake fishing - come on over - you might be hooked

Welcome aboard Terry,
You know where to step up your advertising when that accommodation is built :thumb:

Good luck with the new venture.

Terry,

Welcome, me and mate will certainly be visiting, the Cha Am fish park is a bit of a trek, and seems too over stocked with the massive catfish.

What size do you expect your kohor to be reaching when mature ?

Good luck,

Burger

PS: Will your place be stocked with those larger sized green species that have labels on the front saying 'Heineken' ?

Lev - thanks for the welcome - I will advertise more when ready.

Burger
I pulled a Kohor out on Friday and it weighed in at 4.2 kg. I would expect them to go 30+ They were fingerlings when they went in 15 months ago.
Frankly, who knows how big they will get? There are more than 200 in there though. The ponds are 16,000 and 11,000 cub mtrs each and should provide enough growing space.

Regarding other species of the Heineken and Chang variety, these will of course be available in the shop in due course. For now though, we can get some in for you and chuck them in the ice box.

Hi Terry good luck with your venture. I think we may have met at your neirbours " Billyporn". I am not a fanatical fisher but enjoy occasional dabbles.

It is a coincidence that i have a friend in the uk who was about to do what you have done. Emailed him tonight and now he is totally pissed off, but i'm sure he will visit as he loves fishing. Again i wish you every success in your venture and please advertise here as i always advise my friends to view this site before hols.

Just to let you all know that Hua Hin Fishing Lodge will be open for day fishing from Monday July 3rd.

I've not been able to get things moving as previously planned as I have been stuck working in Taiwan.

Or shop / restaurant should be open around end of July but we can cater for food and drinks anyway as of now.

Rates are THB 40 / hr / person / rod
Rod hire at THB 150 / session

Food / drinks / bait at reasonable prices.

From July 3rd just call 09 837 4079 Eng or 01 927 1271 Eng / Thai & we will arrange to take care of you.

Regards to all

Terry Theobald
