The latest update on the ferry is as follows:

The new hulls on the catamaran have now been completed and she went back into the water last Tuesday.

The first real examination was this morning when she went out on the first test run: the result was a speed of 22 knots at 2000 r.p.m., which slightly exceeds the desired speed of 20 kn.

Extensive sea trials and surveys will now take place and it is hoped to start the service in September.

Many on here are negative about this project, I personally see it as a chance (with a little advertising) to lure some tourists away from Pattaya...maybe get them calling HERE on their planned way to Samui/Phuket..???
TOURISTS just may start a two- tier holiday including HH if only a coupla hrs away from Pattaya..??
I wish the project well.

It is difficult to tell, but I certainly hope it is a success, the previous service was an accident waiting to happen

The understudy is very pleased to hear that the new Hull is exeeding it's goals. This is truly worth an update!
One thing that I concerned of and perhaps you could forward to this very dedicated group that after or during the sea trails a staff training in Safety Procedures would be truly essential in order to be on the safe side!
Other than that I wish this group success all the way!!!!
And I really hope when they become too succesful that they don't get threatned or intimidated by Patt'a shady guys or BIB (Boys'n Brown) wanting their share of the groups success!
