I have been to Cha-Am a few times over the years and still have struggled to find a good restaurant.
Can anybody please recommend somewhere? I enjoy most dishes so i am not fussy of the type of food.
Thanks.

If you like fish, I can recommend the restaurant just before entering the fishmarket to your right (entering from chaam Beach).

You can sit just 20-30 meters from the beach, the food is great and the prices fair.

If you come by car, it is also an advantage that parking is easy.

We always like medsai for seafood. Beach road north, stay right at the split and you'll see the sign just before the road turns to dirt.

I don't seem to have the picture upload on my reply, but they have a big sign on the wall

Sounds like the same place to me, but I am not 100% sure....

If you look at the picture, you would turn right at this point and the go about 50 meters to get there

Is that the place where a rather large gentleman directs you into a car space? If so I have been there quite a few times and i was impressed. I totally forgot about that place!

If you come in the evening, there is usually someone to direct the cars into a parking space just as you describe it. But I have not noticed that he is particular large.

Anyway it is good service since there are a lot of trees in the parking area.

Come to think of it, there is also a very good "Barbecue Moo" restaurant on Narathip road. If you drive from the beach, just after the first traffic light and pass the Karaoke bars it is to the right. They do not have a buffet like in many other places, but they will bring you plates with vegetables along with the meat. The service is above average, the meat is well cut and the vegetables are fresh and varied.

One of our favourite places to eat (this month) is Mum's Bistro on Si Sathon Thai (first left on Narathip Rd on the way down to the beach). You will find it on the right opposite where the Monday night market is held.

Fantastic value for money and wonderful Thai food. The restaurant is run by a family (two sisters and a brother), one sister is married to a lovely chap from York, called John.

We have been eating a great big meal, downing a good few beers and gins and getting change out of 400Bt.

Their pineapple rice is to die for and the spring rolls are fabulous.

Hope this whets your appetite!
