It's not mine, BTW. The neighbour's.
Said I'd put it up on here. I assume she might negotiate. _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

With over half a million klicks and 9 years old, I would say it's worked hard and probably has a book value of 100,000 Baht, maybe less.
It's tough to talk to most Thai's about depreciating assets. They may only buy 1-2 cars in their lifetime and they become very attached to their "baby". Pete _________________ "What America needs is a huge hypodermic needle of morality." Alice Cooper 21 Sept. 2007 |

I knew the post would generate this sort of reaction and had asked around in town about how much a vehicle like that might be worth. I was told that the asking price was a bit steep to say the least, so it's interesting to see your view, Pete.
Anyway, she'd been badgering me all week as to whether I'd put the post up, so I can now say I have. I wonder what her reaction would be if I say that it might only be worth 100k? I'll wait for my wife to tell her that.
I've got no idea of prices over here, never having had a vehicle of any sort in Thailand, but she was out this morning swapping all 4 wheels with her husband's Isuzu Carryboy, Soul Monsta. Maybe this will increase it's value to 250,000? Only joking. _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

Ask your wife to look at this site LOMU, maybe you can find a similar model and see what the price is? I couldn't find an "English" tab so I think it's all in Thai. Pete

More on this one LOMU. Put on your diplomatic hat and sit down with her/them, and in the course of conservation and a few beers tell them their truck has already traveled to the moon and is 1/3 of the way back already.
The next buyer, upon re-entry, will most likely burn up. Pete _________________ "What America needs is a huge hypodermic needle of morality." Alice Cooper 21 Sept. 2007 |

She's not been around over the past few days. I think they've got a place in BKK as well.
However, I will study these sites and get my wife to tell her the "good news" when next door deigns to make an appearance.
Thanks for the help, people. It's not for me, just trying to help a misguided Thai neighbour out.
I'll try the astronaut approach, Pete. However, with the moon being full at the moment for the Buddha days, she'll probably think it's only 100km away _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |
