Hi all,
I've got HH pics in my digi camera but did not bring the cable to connect to the USB port.
Do you know of any shop where I can upload from my camera into a computer then onto e-mail?
Thanks for any/all info offered.

Most photo shops (at least in Bangkok) will have the facility to load and print the photos. Most will also ask if you want it on CD-ROM as well for a further charge.
If you don't have the cable, get a cheap multi-card reader, I found one in Zeer Rangsit for about 300 baht. It just plugs into the USB port and is quicker than the camera cable when downloading. _________________ วินเชนท์ |

Well. Printing isn´t exactly the same as uploading, now is it;)
JohnnyK:
I´m also looking for that kind of thing. Some way to get files from either a camera or a laptop onto thai computer and then uploading them to the web.
My concern is, mainly, if you can access the CD Drive, which could really help (since you could burn files on a disc, pop it into the I-Cafe computer and then upload them). |

I think it is something to do with non standard (English) character set being used to type and not displaying the punctuation marks properly, I'm guessing its a Scandinavian keyboard.
suede, you can use the CD drive on most internet cafes here, there is no difference between the innards of a Thai PC or a western one. _________________ Luctor et Emergo |

Haha, man, do I feel like the most misunderstood guy of this century.
-no- there is nothing wrong with my computer, nor am I a computer novice, nor has it anything to do with different charsets or foreign keyboards.
In most internet cafés I´ve been to (Whatever country I´ve been in, let´s just say Sweden for the sake of it) the computers are "blocked" with an application only allowing you to do certain things. I.E run games, run web-messenger (not the regular msn messenger). You can´t access the control panel, you basically can´t access anything (this varies though, but some I-cafes dont even have the start menu). At some places on holidays I´ve been on (to say, The Canary Islands) the only thing visible is the monitor - the rest has been built in.
In all situations like the above there would be -no- way to load a disc and therefore no way to publish photos, or attach files (that are -on my disc i just burnt from my laptop-) to e-mails since I wouldnt have access to either the right software or the cd-drive.
This is what I´ll be wanting to do:
Load a CD (that contains, say, my digital camera images and some documents or whatever) and then either an e-mail or just "publish" (images) online.
am I understood? |

I you can see this as we do you will understand what a previous poster was writing about. For some reason apostrophes are being converted to some kind of scripting synatx. Buksi and I can read it, albeit with difficulty, as we are both computer people. Many on this forum are not and can just see it as gobbdeegook. I suggest until you indentify the problem that you avoid the use of non latin script characters wherever possible.
As for the original question I think Buksi has answered it. To re-iterate:
Most Inet Cafes have CD readers that you can access. If you find one that has not then go somewhere else.
Good photo shops will either lend you a USB to Camera cable for use on their premises or in many case sell you one for about 150 baht so long as they are agents for the OEM. Most manufacturers use their own propietry plugs and sockets (I think) so you need to purchase a camera specific cable. If you have any problems then feel free to send my a PM and I can help you. I have everything necessary except maybe the lead. I do have a lead fo a Fuji. _________________

Im surprised my apostrophes dont work... kinda annoying. (forum problem).
Randy thanks for the offer but I´ll be bringing my own laptop.
As far as cameras go some require drivers to work (which is stupid), and the one Ive got is one of those. So ill just do it the cd way. |

I as said in my earlier post its a problem with your character set, not our forum, our other 1,500 members have no problems with punctuation marks. _________________ Luctor et Emergo |

´dgdfg´afd´´sx´´ss´´sdc1´
will ´solve th´ problem or you could just avoid using apostrophes.
The problem is definetely not with the forum.
My original advice still stands and additionally why not try preview before sending to see what you get displayed. _________________

I had this problem the other day and after a while I found the hidden language toolbar.
Sure enough, a previous user had been using Swedish which changed a lot of the keys into other symbols.
Definitely not the network or HHAD, its in the computer. |

mind you Ive been using forums for many many years now and this is the only one with apostrophe problems.
Of course theres a problem with the charsets but it still should display properly. Im guessing theres a problem with the forum database.
(could be wrong, though)
----
i now realize the posts above were directed at my apostrophe and not my cd-reader question. sorry bout the misunderstanding, guess I´m kinda slow nowadays
