And coming to London soon.
I bet the black cab brigade try to ban them as they are trying to ban the rickshaws!
Anyone in HH feel they missed out on a business opportunity?

I caught this article today but in a different paper as these Brighton Tuktuks have been imported from India where perhaps they can fabricate them slightly cheaper if labour costs are lowerr. My article also stated that they had to be rigoursly checked for roadworthiness by some government agency.I met a lady actually in Hua Hin about 4 years ago who exported Tuk Tuks, maybe it was TTM'S wife |

Will Brighton also be importing their Tuk-Tuk drivers from the Isarn? I can just picture the bemsed Brighton public haggling with these guys on a cold winters evening outside the Grand. |

This is nothing new, some guy started a Tuk Tuk service in Bath a few years ago. I don't think it could have been that successful, because the same website that the guy used to deal with, now offers tours in Spain.
Don't know if its connected with TTM, but if you do a google search on tuk tuk bath there's a section about importing your own Tuk Tuk. They've got some really amazing photos - I particularly like the stretched version. _________________ Green Army position 8=

The Guy in Bath is John Taylor.
He was our first customer in the UK some 7 years ago and had his private hire registered.
He has moved on and now lives in spain with his beloved tuk-tuk.
The article is a little inacurate in that we have the very first tuk-tuk to gain Hackney status last year in Weston Super Mare, They are also licensed in Norwich, Plymouth, Cambridge, Oxford,Edingbourgh, Newquay, Southampton, and more.
You can get more info on www.tuk-tuk.co.uk

Oh Balls i always spell that wrong.
The ones in the pictures are Bajas and of course not tuk-tuks. after all the problems i had with the Thai Goverment i am surprised they are not up in arms over the naming of these Indian rickshaws.
As i understand it Dave there is or was still a tie up with piaggio and Bajaj.

They are all eco friendly these days, but remember unlike the old SVA test they introduced the new MSVA for motorcycles.
This had the effect of dumming down the regulations, braking, emissions, and a whole host of other things were relaxed under the new regs including seat belts and design and construction.
This is the reason for the flood of Bajas into the UK but not for the rest of Europe, but all this is doing my business the power of good and we are about to send the first one to the States

Lol I live in Brighton. Not seen one yet though have been away in OZ for awhile. I can just see tuk tuk whizzing down the lanes.
I dont fancy riding in one in winter in the cold wind and scotch mist Brrrrr _________________ If it hasn't happened there is no sense worrying till it does and if it has happened there is nothing you can do anyway. :-) |

Aussiebob.
Scotch mist in Brighton?.
I am not sure about the ones in Brighton but for your comfort we do fit Heaters into ours.
I was born and bred there and know the Lanes area but i thought most were pedestrian areas now, I have not been there for about 7 years now so maybe things have changed again.

Hi
I'm glad to hear about the heaters.
The remark about the tuk tuks in the lanes was just a joke. They are pedestrian but some tuk tuks I've ridden in some counties have darted down Lane like thoroughfares sending pedestrians scattering.
What about trying tuk tuks in Sydney or Brisbane
