Has anyone gone this route recently?
Just wondering what the duration and cost for the following methods of transportation:
1. Taxi/Limo
2. State transport bus
3. other
Would it differ much between night and day travel especially getting past Bangkok?
I look forward to any comments y'all might have....

I did the trip in April and it took me 7 hours but I was in no rush.
Mini bus from Hua Hin to Victory Monument 180 Baht.
Sky train to Ekamai 40 Baht.
Air con bus from bus station to Pattaya 117 Baht.
Hows that for value? _________________ Glory! Glory! Man Utd. |

I do this trip once a week, average time about 6.5 - 7.5 hours. Never ever do this trip on a Friday, one time I had no choice, I left at 1.00pm spent 3 hours getting through Bangkok, and a very slow (raining) 4.5 hour onward drive to Pattaya. 10 hours all together. |
