Is it just me, or is this an incredibly busy weekend? Traffic has been horrible ( well, it is always that, but more so than I remember even for Songkran and New years. Maybe it is just the Monday holiday, but the town seems packed with folks from the Big Mango. .half of them probably circling endlessly looking for non-existent parking. I decided that once was enough ( I breakfasted in town this morning) and I am staying home for the duration. Is there something special about this weekend apart from the extra day?

It's been a holiday since Wednesday afternoon Chas.
You'll find that most of the visitors are queuing up on Petchkasem Rd on their way back home to Bangkok right now.

I confirm that information because I live by Phetkasem road. The traffic was crazy before yesterday which was a bank holiday.
