I'm reading and see on BBC/CNN everyday that just about all English teams are signing new blood, except my adopted Toons? Sad ...except for one new defensive back I think. Perhaps we will see a flurry of activity soon. Very Happy Pete Cheers

Thanks Baa Baa. Where are you finding that stuff, one website listing somewhere? I've got to work hard to keep/save my face in the "I know the score" game this year...LOL. Pete Cheers

Pete,

Get yourself a DVD called Goal. It will not teach you a lot about football, but it will give you plenty of visual reference to the team you have chosen to support.

Lot's of images of the Stadium, the city, the people of Newcastle and the very special accent they have when they speak. Oh, and plenty of reference to the copious amounts of beer they drink in the pubs of Newcastle.

Thanks JD, I've seen it a few times already. It's even been on Star Movies here a few months ago. I'm fine with the game technically as coached 12-16 year olds in California back in the 80's. That's where I met my British Colchester friend and his two sons who brough the entire AYSO league there to a new level. Even put the Mexican kids in their place...LOL, about time! My son became quite good and top goal scorer for two years when 15 and 16. He kept on playing after that in other leagues up until he was about 23. He's got Thai legs that look like some of these Thai boxers, and back then he could run like the wind. Fun years those were! Very Happy Pete Cheers

The article now seems to have been updated and they've named the Rangers and Portsmouth as the other two. Not a good way to start a new season, regardless of which teams are allegedly involved. Sad Pete Cheers
