Mr Thaksin's return was as sweet a pr job if ever I've seen one.
The whole show was very well scripted indeed .
The immediate arrival---- he was flanked by heaps of heavies but he strode out defiantly in front.... the sign of a true leader?...
Next---- the pan to the passive and teary family along with the sound of cheering and claping......the sign of an honoured and family man may I suggest.
Then followed the warm embracing of the many true believers ...... surely this guy can't be all that bad can he ?
there are all these people there who are wanting to touch him but there are wow so many that they are having to be pushed back by those caring heavies ---
And along came that defining moment --- the old Pope's kiss trick --- that's where he hits the paving wai ing -- surely a certain sign of a humble and remorseful human.
His heart must really be for Thailand after all---
How did it come across to you ? _________________ The two hardest things in life are success and failure. |

It made me feel decidedly ill - yes, it was skillfully handled but what's the difference between this type of 'PR' and a 'Con Job'

Yes, this is exactly why he didnt pay any tax when selling a state telecoms company to Singapore - tax that could have bought every province in Thailand a new school and hospital. Thaksin loves Thailand, he loves it because its any easy source of income for him and his family. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |
