2dandan,
I've been using an 0844 number to contact Thailand for years without problems - hence the 3p per minute that I'm paying anyway.
My line is BT, I've tried the instructions that are basically the same as my current 3p service, and I've just tried it again - "the service is currently over-subscribed - please subscribe to our newsletter etc etc." I guess they just don't like me.
I will now try their contact page. I'll let you know if I ever manage to get through. _________________ Green Army position 7=

Big Boy,
Get a friend/neighbour to try it on a landline in the vicinity of your house. This should give you an idea of whether it's a localised problem or not. |

I've done that and they don't have a problem - must just be my phone. A friend gave me a 2p per minute number as well - same problem. I don't really understand it because the 3p per minute number works every time. I will get on to BT tomorrow.
Thanks anyway _________________ Green Army position 7=

Thanks for all advice on original topic; got my friends sorted out in one of the stores near Tesco Lotus.
With regard to calls from UK to Thailand, the rates and acess numbers are continually changing, an analysis of the latest rates and access numbers (including those mentioned above) are available at "niftylist" website:
Niftylist also analyse costs from UK to all most other countries around the world.
The only disadvantages are that call quality some times can be poor and you have to dial a few extra numbers - but at these costs I can live with that. |
