If you are 60 years or over, they will not accept you. Other than that, from what I was advised, they have a good reputation, and many flexible plans. _________________ May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead! |

There are a lot of Health Insurances!
Sometimes they're combined as health & life-insurances.
Try the following link for a better overview and some detailed informations:

BANGKOK - Thai police are charging a man with deliberately cutting off his own thumb to claim 16 million baht (457,000 dollars) in medical insurance, media reports said Monday.
Pichet Porntantipong, 38, a former insurance salesman, earlier this year made medical and compensation claims worth 16 million baht from 30 different insurance companies for allegedly having severed part of his left thumb while chopping up pork bones, said the Bangkok Post newspaper.
Pichet told the companies that his severed digit fell into the burning stove, making reattachment impossible.
One of the companies, Siam Commercial Samaggi Insurance Company, smelling something fishy, has accused Pichet of lodging a false claim.
The Bangkok Post quoted acting Crime Suppression Police chief Pongpat Chayaphan as saying Pichet, a native of Phuket Island, was to be charged with fraud on Monday.

Regarding Health insurance I hear San Paolo will not accept Webster universities plan for its students and instead requires out of pocket payment for services. This was on the schools own hometown media blog.
Maybe this had been corrected since but the problem in the article was from January 2007. _________________ I was so horny when I woke up this morning the crack of dawn looked good! |

It's not unusual anywhere in Thailand for a hospital not to accept a particular insurance company for direct billing. Most, not many, require patient payment up front then the patient files a claim with his/her insurance carrier for reimbursement. BUPA I think is an exception. Most Thai hospitals seem agreeable to bill them direct. Pete
PS: It's like many other things here. If people don't force the issue, the Thai's will go the fastest way to the cash. 3% service charges when using a credit card is another example of illegal activity. With that one, many establishments have lost their Visa, MC and AMEX rights when customers complained about being bill the %. |
