What's a fair price to pay for a taxi to Bangkok?
Prices seem to range from 2000 to 1300, and even the later is high I am told by a Thai. Any recommendations on where to hire a reasonably priced car and driver that will get me to BKK safely and in reasonable comfort would be much appreciated. |

Sciamachy,
If you find a taxi at 1300 or less, please post details - I'm sure there will be a lot interested people. _________________ Green Army position 22

you pay for what you get. 2000 should get you a car with a suspension that isnt totally knackered and a driver who wishes to live to see tomorrow. 2500 should get you a very comfortable limo.
less than 2000 and may your god go with you. _________________ ดวงขึ้น

| You guys pay too much. Ive made the trip many times for 1500 without serious shopping, and the car was new and the driver was fine |

No way Sciamacy!!
1500 Bt is no way a normal fee.
Normal fee is about 2000 Bt for a taxi, and 2500 for a minibus.
The cheapest price I ever paid is 1300 Bt, in 1994!!! _________________ I intend to live forever -- so far, so good. |

Yup, I pay 2000bath as well. - But, that were for the old airport, not sure for the new one...
1300 bath? Seems... odd.... The last couple of times i got picked up by the girlfriends brother in the Nissan Pickup - This was 1500 in diesel for a return-trip - I know, I bought it my self - So, how the trip can be done for 1300 bath, considering that the driver has to get back to Hua Hin too, cause it's not likely that he can cram in another passenger in Bangkok, due to the 10000000000000 taxies already there, is to me a mystery. Yes, 2000 bath is very fair and common.... How long can i get in Denmark for 2000 bath? Hmm, around 20-25 minutes? _________________ Beer Sing Kaab! |

Are you getting a ride in the trunk or perhabs in the back of a policecar? 1300 bath is unheard of - Simply put, I would never cheapen out on the road that costs so many lives each year.. _________________ Beer Sing Kaab! |

Just cause you ain't heard it don't mean they ain't saying it.
And paying extra will not necessarilly ensure your safe arrival.
Are you running a taxi service per chance? |
