No it's not a longer way, but heavier traffic.

Has anybody got any new information on travel from the new airport to Hua Hin.

Of particuular intersest to me is the train and the direct bus.

Look like to me that so far the best option is to get a taxi to Victory Monument and then the Mini Bus to Hua Hin.

Hi all;

I just came back from Hua Hin last week. We took taxi from the new airport to Silom costed us about 240 bath plus toll about 60 bath more. So considered cost from airport to Victory monument will cost around 250-300 bath. And van from Victory monument to Hua Hin is 180 bath.

Considered in Malaysia, the cost for taxi from center of town to airport will cost about 75 dollars!!! or a express train will cost 25 dollars.
Bus from Orly airport to Paris will cost you about 10 Euro. Or a taxi from Lax to down town will cost you about 30 to 40 dollars.
Anyhow it is still cheap for using taxi in Thailand.

Guess, I traveled back the other way last week and there is still no direct bus service yet. I would like to try the train but I haven’t had the time to spare. I was traveling in the evening when there was little traffic and the taxi from Victory Monument to the airport was surprisingly quick, only about twenty minutes, and I think 189 baht on the meter.

I guessed that the bus was not running yet but what about the airport train. Quicker and cheaper and will take you straight to Hua Lumpong.

Unfortunately it’s not finished yet, the elevated concrete bed is not even complete, I imagine it’s at least a year off.

Yup Steve, you're right.
At the moment it's just concrete and no rails.
Some of the Bangers-nutters say one more year at least.

We are going to HH in December. Has anyone got an idea how 8 of us can get there. We would rather get some sort of mini bus rather than 2 or 3 taxis.
Cheers
