Spell Check on HHAD

I agree with Vital Spark on the use of the word maths; I’m forever seeing it as “math” in American published writing, but I’ve never heard it spoken in that usage which is not surprising as it is more awkward to say like that.
If you can’t use it conversationally it’s not much use really.

Steve I agree with you and VS, but many's the time I have been told to 'do the math' by one of our ex-colonial colleagues. I smile in an insulted sort of way.

Totally agree with VS about adverbs. "How's it going?" (Itself a stupid question.) "Good!" NO! You cannot be 'going good'! 'Good' is an adjective, but 'Well' is the adverb concerned here. Even if perhaps it isn't the most beautiful language in the world, we have one of the most useable. Let's try and keep it that way.
