Senate election

My wife has recently returned from her stint at voter registration/ counting/checking today at the elections.
For those who are interested, her "constituency" had 800 eligible voters and 342 turned up and did the deed. So, 43%.
I can't remember what voter turnout would be in a local election in the UK, but that seems a reasonable figure here.

so for 300 votes the local tourist industry has been crippled....

Dropped into the polling station earlier so my partner could vote .Then went to the off licence and and grabbed a couple of bottles of wine to have with dinner at a friends house .We then went to the beach in Takiap where dozens of people were enjoying an afternoon libation .Don't ask me how these alcohol bans work .There is always somewhere open and serving booze .Feel sorry for those who get clamped down on every time .
