| Anyone got any info on free to air satilite tv. I am told you can by a big 7ft dish for around 30000 baht and no further charges. I suspect there must be charges for tuning the box when the frequeny changes but can't find out much about the set up. |

That deal does include over 100 stations -- BUT most of them are Chinese, Indian or Arabic. You do get BBC World (India), Star Sports (China -- but good for rugby), Bloomberg, DW, NHK, Asianews, & many American religious ones, but forget things like CNN or any other prime station.
My wife is Japanese so for me, it was worth it, as UBC charge a ridiculous sum for NHK. I also use it to watch the BBC, as the news is the same with just India-centred ads & documentaries. So I reckon it's worth it.
For more information, check out http://satellite.information.in.th/channels.html
If you want movies as well, you may need to consider UBC.
Hope that helps _________________ The International Veterans' Association,
