It is with deep regret that we announce the loss of David Geoffrey Boycott, better known as “Dr Dave Soul Monsta”. Dave left us on November 4th at 4am, out of respect for his family we are limiting all discussion on this until we have more details so we ask if you could kindly only post messages of condolence here.

I only knew the man through his postings on this website, but this is devastating nonetheless. All my thoughts to his family and friends. _________________ Maverick |

First off I would like to pass on my deepest sympathies to Dave's family in Thailand and the UK, Dave, you will be sorely missed by everyone.
Soul Monsta, Sunday nights will just not be the same, no chats on Skype and listening to the great sounds that you used to play (I am sure i was one of your only regular listeners).
Sorry I never got to meet you in person, but was not to be.
Anyway where ever they have your wake I hope that this is the 1st song that they play

Always heard it at least once everytime you were on, and think it sums up what we all loved about northern soul and the good times that we all enjoyed.

Met Dave a couple of times and enjoyed a great night with him last new year as well as bantering a fair bit over the skype from time to time.
Always a genuine joy to get some bizarre skype message from him when down about something at work.
A top man and really funny bloke. His loss leaves a big hole in Hua Hin and on this web community.

A real nice guy, we are going to miss that northern sense of humor, a guy who was a nice person to know.

I knew Dave, a man of Heart, a bringer of Joy. Now there is less heart and joy in the world.
My condolences to Dave's family and friends. |

| This is very sad news. I did not know Dr Dave other than reading his posts and, when in HH, listening to his show from time to time. The thread re the death of DJ Gee, resurrected by Randy Cornhole, is worth reading, as it gives an insight into Dr Dave that is very touching. |

It's still hard to believe this has happened. Dave was one of the first farangs i got to know in Hua Hin, and we had many conversations, drunken or otherwise, about music and the meaning of life. He always had time for a chat, and could always be seen buzzing around town on one of his scooters wearing his Union Jack crash helmet and his obligatory DMs. He helped people, not just with his music and droll humour, but really helped them; a friend of mine was out with me and our girlfriends one night, and got in a stupid drunken rage with everyone including me, and stormed off. Despite barely knowing him, Dave found him, calmed him down and took him to his house (Dave's) and stayed up half the night talking to him.
A top bloke, and his passing leaves an irreparable hole in the lives of all who knew him. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends, and in particular to Oe. |

He was an intelligent, fun loving, party going and most of all genuinely good hearted person.
A great loss for Hua Hin community and this world.
My condolences to all his family and friends.

My heartfelt sympathy to all his family and friends.
I met Dr. Dave at the first HHAD get-together, and will always connect him to the distinctive scooters he used to ride.
Rest in peace, Dr. Dave. _________________ วินเชนท์ |
