Dr Dave was a person I only knew from this forum -but he would send personal pms and thank me for my input in a very "human" way-personal and touching - what he was like in in "real life" I can only imagine -having myself been in shock several times during the past 2 years by wonderful close people passing away suddenly -it must be terrible for the ones that were close to -or knew him!!!
He would write things like "thank you -it's good to know there are some kind-hearted people out there"
-RARE and touching today
Wherever you are today Dr Dave, know you inspired many by being true to your values.
I am certain HHAD will have a REAL guaridan angel as of now!
What can I tell the family and close ones -not much -but we should think of how this person would have liked to be remembered. I wish lots of courage to his family -and hang in there- life is a roller coaster-l Hope this roller coaster has a SOOul to it !

More of Dr Dave's friends leaving messages here. http://www.soul-source.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=59713
I also found a scooter forum last night that has a dedication page for him, but I can't find the link this morning.
Dave was obviously well respected and loved the world over. _________________ Per Angusta In Augusta.

buksida,
There was a notice today, posted on the DJ Gee page and there was a couple posted by friends of Dr Dave on other pages yesterday. I forget which ones.
You may want to move them to here. _________________ You only live once. |

Always delighted to see Dave wherever we met, a very unique man who we'll miss very much. Our thoughts are with his family, to help them through this tough time.

Dave - What can one say? Shocked and at a loss.
This sad news reached me via email and I, as well as many others, will sorely miss Dave.
Always the gentleman Dave I hope you are at peace.
I too would like to offer my condolences to his family. |

Gutted. A true and genuine friend. We've had the pleasure of knowing Dave for 20 odd years. As many on here have said, he had time for everyone and was a genuine fella. We're totally at a loss n will miss yer mate.
RIP mate.

Thanks for letting us know, Buksi. I'll be there for both. _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? But, can they suffer?" - Jeremy Bentham, philosopher, 1748-1832

Dave was a good friend to me and my wife and his gargantuan knowledge of music was truly amazing. When he kindly offered to DJ my wedding reception in Bangkok all the guests were impressed by the quality of the music. Even the stuff he himself didn't fully approve of (but was playing for the guests) was fantastic. And his droll wit was always spot-on.
Goodbye Dave. We will miss you. |

Dave and myself are from the north of England, he'd always remind me
how the red rose was superior over the white one.
He built/restored poxy scooters,..I built/rode 'streetfighters'..proper
motorbikes...I'd always remind him of that.
Whenever we drank together he'd find someone to take the p**s out
of...it was always me!!
If ya reading this Dave-lad....We're all missin' ya dude.
Emotional thoughts go out to Oe and Dave's family from the Mrs & myself,
We're missing him now and we always will.
If we look up and that cloud is a kinda hazy blue colour....its him,
up there, fillin Gods country wiv damn two-stroke smoke,phut-phuttin'
about on some Italian classic.
See ya later Dave lad. |

Haven't used "rockin" for about 20yrs - but it's the one Dave always used for me - even though he knew I was called Richard.
Like everyone else totally shocked at the news
What can you say - great guy who'll be missed
Condolences to his family in Hua Hin and UK - very sorry for your loss
RIP - Richard and Deborah McGowan |
