I'm absolutely stunned to hear this dreadful news.
Always found him to be a very helpful, amenable guy.
May he be in peace wherever he is and heartfelt condolences to all his family. _________________ Barry Stone

Have only just found out this tragic news. Dave my friend for over 20 years, who I looked upon as my big brother, I can't belive your gone.
Remembering the rallies, the do's, the bear hugs and best of all our chats, some sober some not! My thoughts are with your family, and your friends (new and old). Rest In Peace and RIDE FREE my friend.

| Dave, after getting to know you in the early 80's through the crazy scooter scene that it was then, I always remember you for the character that you were. We had excellent times together, and met good people on the way, even though we took different paths we still came back to our roots when we met up. This is a tragic loss to all who knew you my friend, you WILL be missed. Condolences go to your family...Rest In Peace... Peter and Wendy Bent XX |

Can't believe the news, Dave really was one of the best, a great guy and a great DJ, just spent 10 mins looking at the screen and can't think of a word to say, never a prob when talking to our Dr Dave, not much to say really except when are we having a do for him back home "I've got to dance to keep from crying!"

I haven’t been able to contribute to this until now as I haven’t been able to get through the messages here without breaking down. The shock has slowly given way to a hollow numbness and the world has got a little colder.
Even now this is so hard to write, Dave was a passionate man about everything he did from his radio shows to his business to his scooters, his music and finally his family which he loved dearly. He had such a strong life spirit it’s so hard to believe that he is no longer there. He touched so many lives, testament to the fact is written on these pages, he was sensitive, caring, honest, and always there for us.
Above all he was something that doesn’t come too often in a lifetime … a good friend.
Ride on Dr Dave, you’ll always be with me, every time I listen to a soul record, hear the sound of a Vespa, log in to this website or read something about Manchester, you’ll always be there. _________________ Named must your fear be before banish it you can. |

I have tried to post on here a few times now and just fall apart every time I try.
I saw Dave on an almost daily basis, he’d always pop in for a mug of tea and a chat.
I’m just numb.
Dave was a part of Hua Hin, that will be missed. He would see someone, anyone, with a problem, or who needed help, and he would turn up and help, you didn’t even have to ask him, he’d just be there, getting it ‘sorted’.
A Soul Monsta, because of the music he loved so much, but also a Monsta Soul, spiritually, because he cared so much and could look into a person and see their needs.
I’m going to miss this fine example of a friend so much.
My heartfelt condolences to Oe, Nat and all of Dave’s family and friends from all over the world.
RIP Dave, Thanks for the time mate.
This song and it’s lyrics sum up Dave for me.
There was a man I knew
Who was smooth as smooth can be
His music his smile
And his sweet sweet melody
Do you recall that mentor
And the voice with the velvet touch
I'll never forget how he moved us all so much
Do you remember
That special one that very special one
I do remember
How much he's done
I can still here his sweet song
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer
The man was smooth as silk
As he danced across the floor
His music that style
Made you want to see much more
And most of all was inside
Was a heart as pure as gold
I do believe that magic
Lives and never can grow old
Do you remember
That special one that very special one
I do remember
How much the man has done
I can still here his sweet song
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer
Silky silky soul singer

| It is always very sad when someone you know passes from you, Daves passing is especially sad, Hua Hin is lacking in real charachters, Dave was one of the best. May you now enjoy your peace, Regards Clive and Tony. |

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dr Dave, but it is obvious from the above posts how much I have missed out on.
I feel almost guilty for posting, as there is nothing I can add to the many tributes that have already been posted, but I just wanted to pay my respects to a great man.
Condolences to his family and many friends at this difficult time. |
