Hi everyone,I will be in HH in October on a Retirement visa.I just read on another web site that you are not allowed to do any work of any kind on any visa unless you have a work permit.
They stated that even painting your house,,tinkering with the car and general maintenance, gardening and cleaning windows is deemed to be WORK.They have got to be kidding hav,nt they? |

Yes and no. What you list above are jobs that Thai's can do therefore you doing them deprives them of income. Having said that, it really all depends upon who is watching or, how nasty your neighbor may be and turn you in or....if somehow you really piss off some official or cop.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it though. Just do what you want to do in the confines of your property and not for commercial purposes. Have a happy retirement and don't worry about it! Pete |

Pete summed it up well.
Look at your visa. It will probably say "work prohibited". There you go then. After all. if you're retired, why do you need to work?
As far as anything is concerned regarding your property, well that's up to you. _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |
