Cheaper than your homeland which should make you an even happierman.

Now if you asked about the price of a 3/4 inch socket wrench I could get a very precise figure for you!

I haven't been to Hua Hin (yet), but in Phuket the prices are:

Small Singha in bars: 50-80.
Big Singha in restaurants: around 100-120, I think.
Mahkong: I don't even know what it is. Smile
Ladydrinks: 120 in most bars I was in.

Happyman, by the sounds of it your local will be the 7-11 shop and sitting outside drinking them.
Have a nice holiday
I really cannot understand people who go on holiday and worry about prices like beer. If u cant afford it there is one easy answer, dont go till u can afford it
Cheers only 35baht at 7-11 Cheers Cheers
Cheap enough for you

I appreciate you're talking about holidays, Chelsea, but for someone who was here years ago I suppose that a quick comparison of prices dosn't go amiss.
It's probably more important for those of us who live here and only have incomes (maybe fixed) from abroad. Then the rate of inflation and exchange rates really do make a difference.
I'll be doing my budgets next month and one thing I already know is that it's costing my wife and I 11-12% more each month to live here than it was a year or so ago. That's without any increase in accommodation costs.
I'm pretty sure we're not going out more - in fact probably less than last year. It just drains away. Beer, cigarettes, petrol, food, bills etc etc.
Inflation may not be rampant here yet, but it's certainly higher than the annual %age increases I can even hope for from rental on my property in London.
Swings and roundabouts. At the moment they're by no means desperate, but most non-working ex-pats will be suffering, I'm sure.

lomuamart, I understand what u say about the expats that live here, is the same in Aus with going out and budgets etc

We are at present paying the equivilant of 225baht for a pint of Stella and 180baht plus anywhere for a bottle of Heiniken or Singa.

What is killing us from this end at present is the excahnge rate (as you say) of the Aus Dollar against the Baht.

When I was there last Jun/July I was getting over 2800 per $100 (AUD) I checked today and was only just 2500

Beer prices seem to be much the same most of the time, but what u get for every $100 (AUD) is going to be a lot less.
That may have a big affect on whether people keep coming or not. I hope not.
For me at present it would not make much difference, but to some it obviously will.

While i can still get a bottle of Heinikin for about $4.00 Hua Hin & Thailand is still a wonderful place, and gets my vote every time
Cheers Cheers Cheers Cheers Cheers Cheers Cheers

Still getting your cake and eating it? You lucky person!!
Sometimes I think I finished work too early in the UK. Then again, I like a challenge. This country provides that in large quantities thumbs up
