Hi cowdies out there. Are there any centre fire/small bore clubs in the area? What are the rules in relation to obtaining a rifle/pistol licence?
Keep your powder dry.

It is correct that farangs can't keep or buy a gun in Thailand, BUT, if you have a Thai g/f or wife, she can perfectly well buy a gun if she's got her weapons license.
Or just drive up to the shooting range and rent a gun for the day. _________________ I intend to live forever -- so far, so good. |

Nice one Big Boy!!! they will certainly have more!!
The best range i have used is north of Hua Hin - right beside the old plane on the side of the road about 10km north of Hua Hin - run by the army. Its well run with good instructors - they have a great selection of weapons - M16 (22 version which anyone can shoot), HK MP5 - used by the SAS - they will let you fire this on full auto if they see you can handle it, SIG pistols, 357 Magnum etc.
Make sure you put your ear muffs on its bloody load! |

It's not the army. It's the Border Patrol Police (special ops). They're the guys I used to work with back in the days of 'Action Pursuits'.
They are situated in Naresuan Camp, next to Rama VI camp, where the Summer Palace is located. _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? But, can they suffer?" - Jeremy Bentham, philosopher, 1748-1832

| Is that the camp just south of Khao Takiup? Or the one on down farther and across the highway? |

JW
do you have a phone number for the range opposite the plane?
reason I ask is some mates are over for a conference in HH soon so Id love to take em out there and have a good old "shoot up".....an MP5 will have em wetting their pants in anticipation.... _________________ If I can't smoke and swear I'm f****d! |

No, they are army. I believe you can shoot at the furthest one you mention (Thanarat). Naresuan is between Cha-am & Hua Hin, so North of HH. _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? But, can they suffer?" - Jeremy Bentham, philosopher, 1748-1832
