I do know that it's possible to get fan assisted ovens here.
My question is: Is it possible that the regulator for the gas bottle could be opened up a little, so as to give more flame/heat to the cooker?
Onlyme.
PS. I shy away from electricity and gas. Shocked

If you promise to do so, then I will come and set it up myself. Very Happy

It is not the regulator that needs adjusting. There are two possible reasons if it is not getting hot enough.

1. It has the wrong size jet / nozzle in the burner: they usually have some form of marking on them related to the flow rate.

2. Some types of thermostats have a small adjusting screw on the body which allows the temperature range to be adjusted.

As Cham Am is such a go ahead place, there must surely be a local gas dealer that can set it up. Mr. Green

Are we talking about the type of oven with several burners on top and a gas-fired oven below? That you have to attach one of those blue gas tanks?

They are typically sold with the regulator already in place; mine came with an additional safety gas cutoff, 'Saf-t-gas' or something similar, where you have to depress a button every time you want to use the gas.

If you're not getting *hot enough* Wink many of these ring burners have an additional adjustment to regulate the amount of air that mixes with the gas. This would be somewhere under the burner head. On the old model this looked like a lever - you adjust so the the orange tint in the flame just changes to all blue and you'll be okay.

Prefer the electric ovens, though. They have much better temperature control.

Seconded! Electric ovens rule! Cost more money but higher quality and better cooking.
