| ** Applies to streakers who run onto the pitch of any World Cup game. ** Must be televised. Streaker must be shown on TV for it to count. Streaker must be fully naked (not including footwear.) |

Alas I fear the streaker is a dying breed. Long gone are the days when a streaker would be followed vigilantly by every camera man in the ground and rugby tackled by one of the players. Anyone remember when a streaker ran on during a cricket match and got his arse hit for four by Ian Botham as he went past the wicket? Or how about the South African Currie Cup rugby match where a streaker almost pulled off a try saving tackle - the ball carrier took the tackle as if the streaker was one of the opposition and gave a scoring pass out of the tackle! They are my favourite comedy streaker moments, along with ERICA ROE at Twickenham of course! One of the flaws in the rules of this poll is that unfortunately streakers are never shown on TV these days because of the danger it presents to the impreshonable yoof. Then again... the world cup is in Germany this time, so who knows!

The TV camera director is presumably German though - isn't it only the commentators that change for each country? How would they censor it in LoS if the German camera crew decide to follow the streaker with his/her dangly bits on show? And (note to self - starting sentence with 'And' gives Biblical gravitas to forum posts), given the Thai penchant for ghoulish trauma scene voyeurism, there would be a real quandry for the Thai TV people if a horrific accident befell the naked reveller - like if he or she spontaneously combusted on the centre circle, or if they were mown down by one of those motorised stretchers, or impaled on a corner flag! To show or not to show - that would be the question! If there was enough pain, grief and gore involved then I am sure they would show the streaker but the VCD's of the incident that would be on sale on Sukhumvit Road next day would have the nob and/or tits digitally blurred. Wow - nob and/or tits - ladyboys - topical! I wonder when the first ladyboy streaker will make his/her/its appearance at a major sporting event?

When Thailand reach their first World Cup finals?
Actually you got me thinking. May be I'll suggest to the lady's? of the Blue Angel club they should go streaking up and down Soi Bintabar (for marketing purposes only of course).
I was always curious to know what was actually under there so to speak. I admit in a very drunken state in Phuket I once took a LB back to my hotel room. I think she was from knotty ash!  |

You are right, so good old BBC and ITV will be at the mercy of the german director. One way to ensure you get TV coverage as a streaker is to arrive late at the far post and nod in the winner in the final! |

Isnt this activity heavily fined now days in europe?? In Oz some grounds impose a fine of nearly $5000 aud on streakers. Quite an expensive nudi run!!!!!!!!!

That's why the streakers usually have sponsors these days, or some cause such as 'save the whale' or 'deforestation' (in which case the streaker is usually shaved to make the point). Can anyone think of any other apt sponsors? |

I do recall a rugby game (i think it was rugby) a few years ago where streakers entered the pitch with vodafone logos on there back, they actually got off the fine and vodafone wore it and since this incident im sure laws have been changed to prevent this sorta cheap advertising for corperations. So it seems it was corperations that ruined the good ol streak. As for only serving mid strength beer...........well i have no cause for that.

As they have been as scarce as rocking horse shit this World Cup I think you should book yourself on a plane to Germany for the final.
As, I understand, you used to run the three legged race on you own you should make quite an amazing spectacle.
We do not mind about the commentary being in Thai.
