can anyone help please
downloaded off net a PDF file
opened it in PDF professional to save it as a text (plain) file, but it is locked as i guess they dont want people copying it
anyway round this, i wanted to get the text out into a Word document ?

| The only thing I can think of that might help is trying a basic pdf freeware program such as open office. Some of these are more flexible. |

| I don't know if this will get round the problem, but you could try opening it with your browser, as many browsers already have the necessary plug in to do so, and then see if you can copy it in there. Also there are some PDF softwares that allow you to open the original document in plain text, but whether this will get around the locked file I don't know. One other thing you could try is to duplicate the file on your computer and then see if you can unlock it, or change the permissions via the 'Properties' dialogue (right click on the file and select Properties). |

thanks chaps, but ive tried everything now and its basically got protection/security on it, stops printing and anything
its a doc off a solicitor website that is quite useful
its strange cos they let you download it but nothing else

| If it's from a solicitor they will no doubt provide you with the document for a ridiculous fee! |
