Ther is a dealer in Satukurn square who charges 100 baht per CD or 400 baht for a DVD.
Problem with XP now is getting a legal serial number. _________________

Can't beat Panthip for choice though, let me know if you need anything specific.
If you have to use a non genuine version of XP make sure you turn automatic updates off else it'll detect that it is a copy and pop up annoying warnings all of the time. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

| Buksida, I have a legal verson of XP; is there any way of stopping all those warnings that keep popping up at the bottom of the screen as they are annoying as hell. For instance, every time the WiFi signal strength changes I get a thing that says "signal strength Good" and then a couple of seconds later "signal strength Excellent", this goes on constantly and is useless information to me as I can't do anything about the signal strength. Is there some way of turning these warnings off. |

There is indeed. For network messages you need to right click the connection (two blue screens in bottom right corner) select status > properties and uncheck the box that says "notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity".
Regarding Windows security center you can turn these alerts off by opening its properties and clicking "change the way security center alerts me" and uncheck the three options. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

I know this is old but I don't really think I should start a new thread.
I hope you guys all got your WGA message problems sorted. Since the last post I got a little program that fixed it. After a few weeks MS had it figured and it would not work anymore.
This time I figured out how the process was started and got my grubby fingers into to the registry and deleted the start item. It worked and no trouble since except if I try the upgrade of Explorer. To get round that I have set updates to notify me but let me choose when to install. I do this and then select custom install and uncheck anything related to IEXPLORE.
I have now got more courageous and downloaded SP3. I was expecting trouble so I installed on another disk and allowed for dual booting.
To my surprise not only is it an improvement but it has some features that I had believed only came with Vista. In fact the software tells you on the surface that your are running Vista. The reality is that it is still SP2 with some graphics bits from Vista and a couple of new features.
It would be good to hear from anybody who has used SP3 or Vista. I was not expecting to migrate to Vista until Q4 2008 but maybe now it may be sooner. _________________

Have tried Vista but not SP3 - to be honest if your machine is running smoothly and you have a good third party firewall you don't need the service packs or auto updates.
If you have top end hardware give Vista a go however its hungry so you'll need a Gig of RAM and a serious graphics card to enjoy its full potential.
I have also tried IE7 and hate it, Microsoft really enjoy screwing everthing up with their backwards compatible software.
Give me Firefox any day. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |
