| Has anyone every heard of such a thing as a nursing home or convalescent home in Hua Hin for the elderly...especially one that might take in a foreign patient? |

Apparently not I'm afraid.
I asked the same question one year ago and nobody knew.
I've lived here for 3 years now and have tried to find some sort of meetingplace for elderly, but I can't find even that.
If anybody know more about this that would be of great interest to me also. _________________ I intend to live forever -- so far, so good. |

There's a place between Cha-am & Hua Hin called Cheshire Home or Cheshire House. I've never been there, but gather it's a nursing home for Thais & Farangs of long standing here. I really don't know much about it at all, but it might be worth checking out. _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? I also don't know about any nursing home in Hua Hin, but did anybody heard about a nursing service?
Rumors say it’s possible to get private nursing-service on a monthly-salary condition? |

| There is definetly a sign on the left on the main Petchakasem Road coming into HH. If I remember rightly it is just after the Dusit, the sign is a picture of a wheel chair and say Cheshire Home or something like that. |

| Friend of mine is working on a large project south of town. This is a ugue development with 27 hole golf course and mucho homes and condos. He showed me plans and to my utter surprise it included a 50 room retirement center. I for one tried to sell this idea to some money people here in states. No one bought into it. I think this is a grand idea and expect others to go up in the future. Bring out those bingo tables and jello molds. |

Hi Bill
I'm interested in finding out more about the golf course/retirement community you mentioned south of Hua Hin. Any idea what the name of it is? Is it actually going up or are they just in the planning stage. |

| Head on down to Bernies's Bar. Make sure that you bring I.D. as you gotta be about 70 to be allowed in to this special establishment. Go early as these gents have already had their geritol and are in their cribs by 8 p.m. |

There is no equivalent for his type of facility in Thailand. Thais keep their "olds" at home with a personal maid 24 hours a day, if necessary. Youngest gaughter may also be kept at home to look after Mum and Dad.
So, if you want to live in Thailand, and accomodate older family members you will have to either hire a full time nurse/carer or start a Home yourself!
This concept is being explored by a Thai/Falang consortium in Chiang Mai, aimed at Foreign Retirees. |
