Richard said " Leeds is a suburb of Delhi"
Reminds me of Les Dawsons old joke:
"When there's a problem in Leeds they don't phone for the police, they call the Bengal Lancers!"

I think Kelpies coming round a bit Richard! Nowt wrong with curry and chips, or gravy and chips. Cheese though goes all stringy! Hadn't heard of it until I got back to the UK and thought it was a yeller belly thing.
Oxtails - nice big uns in the market most days. You need one of those huge cooking pots but they're dirt cheap, or use a rice cooker.
I used to get visitors to deliver supplies of mushy peas, or just get some bi-carb for soaking and get dried peas from the market (not in the same league as Batchelors though!)
Niggle - your Mum and my Mum in Law are probably cooking up a storm up there |

Pork scraps (chunky pieces of pork fat cooked slowly in the oven), scallops (potato slices in batter), real home fed bacon (pig only fed on milk slops and therefore 90% fat)
All good for the cold frosty mornings before work or school
Now why didn't I open a restaurant in HH???
Not much call for it I fear

Amongst this, (Northern) English Haute cuisine or perhaps grande cuisine (or is it cuisine classique?)
I declareth that anyone enjoying sharpish Cheddar obtaineth it by buying NZ Cheddar called Vintage.
It's available almost anywhere and is truly a bit on the sharp side.
Of late I have grown to understand, and sympathize with, the utter revulsion displayed by the Frogs. _________________ Your ad here! |

Bill - do you do pie, mash and 'lickaaar'? Hard to get that anywhere now.
The eels were never for me, although mum and dad had eels prepared by my mother every saturday lunchtime after my dad finshed his work (and a pint and a bet). _________________ I know nothing |

Deep fried pizza. Only available in Scotland. You can feel the arteries blocking up after two bites. Weird how they can deep fry it and the topping actually stays on
We are the masters of all things deep fried though. Makes me so proud |
