Read a brief note that there is a new act banning drivers from using mobile phone while driving and it will take effect on May 8.
Wonder if it includes cycles??
Same type law takes effect here in California July 1 but no one is expecting widespread enforcement |

hi there y'all
BaaBaa you are abslutely right, especially when Thai Girls are in a three way talking session I can see already the traffic Cop getting all worked up trying to make her stop babbling on he Cellphone.
I guess when this law comes to effect it will be enforced poorly. K

| Talking and driving is easy; my partner can send text messages whilst riding a motor-bike! |

I always wonder how they can ride sidesaddle, using their cell phone whilst making up _________________ Francois

| Most people here in California wouldn't be able to drive without one hand holding the phone to the ear!! |

You should try the Middle East where it has been illegal for years which roughly translates to MANDATORY! |

Want to make a Thai girl mad????
Once saw a pretty dumb Canadian blow a fuse and started shouting at a girl in the bar who was on the phone
She went ballistic. Not sure if guy is still around. Not seen him for months _________________ Syd--------Shine on you crazy diamond

Phones illegal from 8th of May, fine for breaking the law 400 up to 1000 baht.
The law states no mobile while driving car or motor bike hands free are ok.
This should lose this government any future votes from Thai girls. _________________ Woke up this morning breathing I thought this is a good start to the day. |

| After May 8th, the law will probably be laxly policed until the end of the month when the local police chief has to pay his monthly installment for his Benz and then they'll blitz it for a couple of weekends. |

| I’ll have to work out how to fit one of those Bluetooth things into the motor-bike helmet. |

| And when and if they enforce it at all it'll probably be like the motorcycle helmet requirement. . . enfored against falangs five times for every once against a Thai. . . and a nice way for the cop to supplement his income. . .. |

My heart bleeds.
Try wearing a helmet.
And not using the mobile while you're on the bike/in the car.

I suppose it's a case of just being safety sorted. It doesn't matter if others don't comply, it'll be them that die, not you. Back home, we all use seat belts, helmets etc(agreed the the consequences are more serious for non-compliance).
But it won't be you on the slab. |
