Urgent help needed! My missus has found my James Blunt CD (I know I should have destroyed it) Now every waking moment I have to listen to 'Your beautiful' and the like, its driving me bonkers.
I have tried to ween her onto Zepplin and Zappa, but to no avail... _________________ Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly!

Even christmas records would be better than that! He is annoying no mistake about that.
Ween her off with some Keane or similar, try razorlite?
Otherwise it's going to be a tedious christmas |

Randy,
Speaking as a Ray Lamontagne evangelist, it is clear that you and Mrs Randy needs to feel some Ray love.
Ray Lamontagne - Trouble. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Blunt & Morrison are just wannabes. Ray is the real deal. _________________ "The man who never made a mistake never did bugger all" - Old Welsh proverb

It's been a long time since I heard that! I vaguely recollect it had a catchy electronic theme? What was the generic term used for such bands who were usually a front for someone more clever? Another one was Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep by Middle Of the Road...some song title, eh?
But that takes me on to one of my all time fave records that was also a one-hit wonder - Barbados by Typically Tropical - with its nod to reggae. Just love that song. It came out as I was exploring elsewhere for the first time with mates - great, happy days!
Oh, the CD I'm listening to in my car at the moment? Babes In the Wood, by Mary Black. Not new, but a lovely, consistent, well put together album, particularly the track "Golden Mile".
Mary who? |

I've eventually got my Nick Drake.
So, it's "3 hours" from "5 Leaves Left". _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

Wow thats the first place I went when I was a green Thai tourist. I saw the Irish clover and the guinness sign and thought 'thats for me'
Its also the place I started smoking again after 14 years of abstinance...
Back on topic, I am currently listening to the Barenaked ladies. Quite a clever bunch of Canadian chaps... "chickety china the chinese chicken" _________________ Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly!

At the moment I am mainly listening to new albums by two very different bands; The Felice Brothers & The Storys. Going to see them both next month & can't wait!

Richard - wheredidyougettheClaptonjamsessionsandhowandquicklyplease!
My latest is the new Eagles, Long Road to Eden (yeah, sad I know, but they have at least stuck to their roots.)
Still waiting for a mate to boot me a copy of the new REM.
Also found a CD of Pearl - Janis Joplin - for a quid in my local library. Brilliant. When that first came out us young lasses couldn't afford a lot of records, so it was sadly overlooked.
Otherwise, still like to stick on Fleetwood Mac now and then. Preferably Tusk at full blast.
But still looking to replace two old faves - Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis - which was nicked, and Inside, by Jet Harris, which was on vinyl. Any ideas? _________________ 'If'n ya cain't say nuth'n nice, don't say nuth'n at all' Thumper. |

Well, I've got the title track, Mags. Don't know how to transfer it though.
Bearing in mind some of the threads on the UK, I've just put on "Selling England by the Pound". _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |
