Verily! Be there none of Ye who hath much faith in opera?

Flamenco, anyone?

Spanish & South American music in general is getting a lot of play time in my house at the moment with Paco Di Lucia, Al Di Meola, Los Lobos & Tito & Tarantula.

Opera, now that is in the blood but I do not get the chance to listen to much. I don't think it would go down too well with the wife.

Blimey JD, you're avatar brings back some memories.

One of the best bands of all time for me Madness, and the Specials and Sham 69.

The Prince, One Step Beyond, Baggy Trousers, Embarrassment, Too Much Too Young, Ghost Town, Night Boat to Cairo etc etc.

Absolute quality, just like your pork pies Wink
Although just like chips don't taste the same in newspaper, pork pies don't taste quite the same if not delivered in a tuk-tuk Shocked

I'm back on to Ray Lamontagne - pre-Trouble self released CD called 'One Lonesome Saddle.'

Brilliant raw, bluesey alternative country/folk. If anyone's interested pm me for details of where you can get it for free on the net (legit).

The man is the best I have ever heard and I can't wait to see him in concert next month. I'm literally counting the days!

If you listen and are not moved then your heart must be stone cold.

I've got some of Nick Drake's tracks on the computer. I'm still hopeful that I might be able to get the whole of "Bryter Later" and "Five Leaves Left" from someone. If so, it would make my day.

Hi lomuamart, I'm a newbie here, just signed up as I'll be moving from Central Thailand to Hua Hin soon.
If you need a complete copy of "Bryter Later" or "Five Leaves Left" it's no problem, I have them both on CD and my computer. Also a rare acoustic recording of Nick Drake singing "Don't Think Twice.."
If you still need the copies we can organise something when I'm in the area which should be approx mid-August.

I knew I'd remembered someone mentioning Nick Drake.
So. I've got "Five Leaves Left" and "Pink Moon" now. Both great albums. The only one I don't have, but used to have, is "Bryter Later".
Listening to it all now.
And to all those advertising people who made his music so chic. It went with driving a car, didn't it?
I drive a buffalo
Cheers

The Best Christmas Carols ...Ever!

Sad, but actually true.

Best ever Xmas song?

Nat 'King' Cole - The Christmas Song. Just reminds me of the excitement of my boyhood days, big family get together, Huge Dinners, followed by a game of Monopoly-Cluedo- etc.. Makes me wish I was a kid again.

Happy Crimble Everyone.
