There seems to be widespread interest in this. Perhaps it deserves it's own category?
People could share their likes and dislikes with explanations, and hopefully not many one liners like 'cool man...' For example, I was in a bar last night and really got into a few Rod Stewart CD's. No idea why. So, does the music make the mood, or does one's mood dictate the music?
Could also be a centre for sharing info, upcoming concerts and reviews. In addition, a spot for music electronic info, separate from 'digital realm' Pete

Excellent idea! music has always been a major part of my life from playing in bands for over 16 years, training as a sound engineer, teaching the guitar, collecting vinyl and now being a DJ on Surf FM. The topic base is endless and often controversial. Bring it on. _________________ Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly!

Music was my first love
and it will be my last.
Music of the future
and music of the past.
To live without my music
would be impossible to do.
In this world of troubles,
my music pulls me through.

If there's enough demand for it I'm sure we could get the powers that be to add another forum section.

well. this music thing brings back a few memories....... I remember..
"another one bites the dust"..as I make my way to the "stairway to heaven"...and meet "maggie may"....at the :ymca"....who told me "saturdays alright for fighting:..so i said .."John, I'm only dancing"..and she said..."voulez vous couchez avec mois,se sois"....so i said..." I won't get fooled again" cause" the times they are a changing" so she said "got to get you into my life" and I said " mama mia"..you aint no "dancing queen" so don't "paint it black"and remember "you can't always get what want you want" ..so I picked up my coat cause it was "one of these nights" and I needed a" peaceful easy feeling"..made for the door..and she said"aint no mountain high enough" cause you are a "penny lover"and all i need is "one more night"..I turned round..and as I walked out..all i heard was ........bye bye "american pie "
If you remember all this..not only do you love music..but you really are an old fart |

Just to revive this idea as the board these days is full of legal/finance/property threads how about a book/music/movie review section?
People can post up thoughts on new movies they have seen, books read, new or old music albums etc etc? _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

Just for your information: The "Police" are currently rehearsing in a warehouse in Vancouver. Reunion slated and an appearance at the Grammies. Pretty awesome! _________________ Maverick |

My Mum wouldn't let me have a haircut like David - or the Beatles, or the Rolling Stones - for that matter.
So, I rebelled at around 18 years of age and started listening to Talking Heads, John Martyn (in quieter moments), and all the loud rock and roll I could be introduced to.
Many years later, I'm of the same mind and my music collection both here and in the UK would bore most to death.
I don't care, it makes me happy and I dance sometimes - which is even worse.
