When I try that on my Nokia I get "Change Active Speech Codec?" which makes me panic and I quickly exit as I don't know what that is? On my partners Nokia, you get nothing when you enter that code. Pete

Pete,

I get the same response as you to number 3 - scares me as well.

Regarding number 2 - surely, that has to be a wind up as well. If its as easy as that, why should anybody bother to lock their cars in future? - anybody would be able to come along and open them again.

someone send me thought it might be usefull if they work

hit the button on the codek thing now cant get on line ballance on my phone???

wondering have i messed up again the phone is working ok

Network Monitor (61xx)
This is a hidden menu in your Nokia Phone. If you want to active it you'll have to reprogram
some chips inside of your phone. For example the Nokia 6110 Network Monitor:
1. Check your Software version. You can continue ONLY if you have 4.33, 4.73 or 5.24!
2. Take apart the phone.
3. Desolder the EEProm (ATMEL AT 24C64).
4. Read out the data with an EEProm progammer and save it to a file (backup).
5. If you have v4.33 or 4.73 then change adress 03B8 from 00 to FF.
6. If you have v5-24 then change 0378 from 00 to FF.
7. Write the new data to the EEProm and solder it back into the mobile phone.
8. Power on your phone and you should have menu number 10.

The Network Monitor gives you the following informations:
Carrier number
MS RX level in dBM
Received signal quality
MS TX power level
C1 (path loss criterion, used for cell selection and reselection). The range is -99 to 99
RLT (Radio Link timeout)
Timeslot
Indication of the transmitter status
Information on the network parameters
TMSI (temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity)
Cell Identification (CELL ID, number of the cell being used)
MCC (Mobile Country Code)
MNC (Mobile Network Code)
LAC (location Area Code)
Ciphering (on/off)
Hopping (on/off)
DTX (on/off)
Discarding cell barred information

Software Version

This code shows you software version, date of manufacture and hardware model number of your phone.

Show warranty information

To get additional information from your phone you can use the so called

"warranty codes", try typing:

*#92702689# (= *#war0anty#).

You will be asked a 'warranty code:'

type:

6232 (OK) : To display the Month and Year of Manufacture.
7332 (OK) : To display the date of the last repairment.
7832 (OK) : To display (if previously set) the date where the phone was purchased.
9268 (OK) : To display the Serial Number.
37832 (OK) : To set the Purchasing Date MMYY (Warning: You can only do this once)
87267 (OK) : To Confirm Transfer

Sim Clock information

To check if the Sim-Clock can be stopped type:

*#746025625# (= *#sim0clock#)

Restore factory settings

To restore factory settings

(This does not include memory, language and counters) type:

*#7780#

SPLock Mode

If you want to inquire your phone about SPlock, you can use the following:

# pw + 1234567890 + [y] #

If you put your hands on your 10 digits SPlock code yet, then you can modify the status of the above results, typeing:

# pw + [mastercode] + [y] #

where:
[y] is 1 up to 4, and
any ten digits number seems working instead of "1234567890"

Unlock SP lock

Here is a way to Unlock your phone which is Service Provider locked,
without to know SPLock code !!!!
Give it a try:

First of all, PIN CODE MUST BE ON, then press:

C
<arrow down>
C and hold until it clears display
* and hold until start to blink
* and hold until start to blink
04*<your pin>*<your pin>*your pin>#

Each time you turn your phone OFF it resets the lock,
so this need to be done each time you'll turn your phone ON
Anyway it's better than nothing, isn't it?
