Last time we came in December, the departure from bangkok to Hua Hin didnt leave from Victory monument, instead it left from a small soi approx 300 metres away.

Same when we returned to Bangkok as well, does anyone know if this is still the same

Kind Regards

John

That's true.

When you come from Victory Monument, on the left handside, after the Suzuki Garage, the soi is just on you left, before the Big C building (crossing thanon Rangnam). I used this minivan service in December '07, my son used it 2 weeks ago.

Minivan terminal (?) is now in the parking area of Century cinema right where the steps come down from the rear exit steps (oposite end to the old one) of the BTS skytrain station. Its actually less walking than the former location down along the ramp by the hospital.
Fare is 180, takes 2.5-3 hours depending on traffic and weather, but quicker than last year as the highway is much improved.

They stop?

One reason I hadn't considered that minivan is that I read somewhere that they didn't stop. I'm not sure my bladder would hold out. Wink

Usually, they don't stop except for refueling. But I am sure you can ask the driver to stop halway.

If I do remember they start at 5 am. Departure is when the minivan is full. I never wait more than 15 minutes.

One more thing, do not take a too big luggage : they have no room available in their trunk : the methane container take a good part of available space...

The minibus leaves from near Victory Monument BTS station. Leave the station to the left from the direction of travel, from Siam, or right if travelling from Mo Chit, walk a few yards up the road, direction of travel from Siam, and you will see the vans and a collection of desks.

Don't forget to say your prayers before getting on the bus.
