Hello and help please.

After a very stressed out Business life both in UK and Asia, I have decided to opt out of the rat race, hopefully by this time next year.
I will be 50 and with not going crazy, should be able to to manage ok financially etc living a sensible lifestyle in Hua hin.
I am English and have a lovely Korean Wife and little boy of just 9 months.
We are coming over to Hua hin on the 19th January for two weeks. During this time it would be our intention and hope to meet similar like minded families / people who have made the move ahead of us, and are willing to share their expriences and advice.
Happy to do this over a meal or drinks etc. As you must know we have a range of major and minor questions to ask.
If willing to meet or e-mail much appreciated advice, would be very happy to exchange e-mail addesses etc. Thank you so much Very Happy

Hello DavidH and welcome to the board. This thread has appeared twice so i will delete the other one after replying to this, if you don't mind. Hopefully you have already had a good read of the forum, as I am sure many of the questions you have will have already been answered, but if you haven't I would strongly suggest you do. Use the search function using the key words such as 'school', 'baby supplies' etc
I doubt there are many here in exactly the same position as you, in that you have a non-Thai wife and baby, so there may be some things you face here that no one else knows about, particularly visas and the like, so hopefully you have already got your bases covered. There are plenty of people though who have left the rat race and have a family here, so questions relating to those issues will have a multitude of respondents; you might consider posting them on here before you come, as well as meeting people when you are here, as it will give you more insight as well. You haven't revealed anything about your budget, which could be crucial as regards the answers you get, but you will need at least 40k baht a month available to you unless you go completely native! Very Happy
I hope that is of some help, and I will possibly be able to meet you but I am moving house around the time you are here so PM me if you want first. I am sure there will be others who can give you some assistance though.
Good luck and i hope you enjoy your trip.

Hi DavidH

My ex wife is Korean, came to the states after high school, we met in university.

Of the many Koreans I have met here, in the States, the Korean food is important, kim chi, gojujang, etc. Don't know the availability of Korean staples in HH, maybe others do.

Whatever you do, good luck!! Cheers
