Sorry Guys, but I have to ask the question. In numerous postings over many months people refer to LOS - can somebody please tell me what it means?

I've been assuming that it means Thailand, but can't make any connection between LOS and Thailand.

Please put me out of my misery. Confused Rolling Eyes

A short sharp answer will suffice - no need to create a massive string. Cheers

We may need BambooGrove for an exact translation but I would say in my rudimentary fashion "Pratet Yim", which literally means "Country (of) Smiles" or...perhaps "Smiling Country"...?? BUT..if you said that to a Thai he/she probably would have no clue what you meant...LOL. Pete Cheers

PS: Any of your guys going out for a beer in HH later tonight, try the above with some gals and see what happens? Shocked

I think LOL comes from the smileys (emoticons.) At least in the former days one of the smileys ( Very Happy I think) was called LOL. Correct me if I'm wrong.
