Would anyone like to recommend a not-too-difficult local course for a round this week ? I play a wee bit but my thai g/f has just started, following a series of pro lessons at a driving range. We would like to hire a set of clubs etc at the course if that would be possible. A guide as to how much it would cost for one round, green-fees, club hire, caddy, buggy etc would be appreciated. I realise there are several fine courses but the best would be "pearls before swine" in my case so let's focus on the least challenging option.
Thanks in anticipation. Happy New Year, everyone. _________________ Flying Scotsman |

Hi Philip,
a belated Happy New Year,
Your best bet for an easier course would be either Palm Hills or Royal Hua Hin.
They are also a little easier on the wallet, compared with some of the other courses.
I'd pick Palm Hills of the two, they used to over a 30% discount if you used a visa card - but I've not played on it in ages.
Another option which might appeal to your girlfriend as a beginner would be the Tavi Mook par 3 course along Petchkasem road, before the big PTT garage heading North. Only 9 holes varying in length from 30 yards to about 200 yards. On Wednesdays and Fridays you can go around twice for B500. |

Thanks, Ricardo,
In the time available, we settled for Royal HH and had a great round. The set-up there is great, one caddy-girl per player, an electric buggy and good distance/club advice from the helpful caddy too. True service.
I would recommend the course to anyone looking for a golf-experience in Thailand.
Cheers. _________________ Flying Scotsman |
