If they are touring Wednesday to Friday, who is playing in the Gene Pub on those days? _________________ Green Army position 10 2007/08

| They got sacked from Gene pub! The plan is that we get them 5 nights a week have a couple of nights off to learn new material. |

Again?
The management there don't know when they're on to a good thing. _________________ Green Army position 10 2007/08

I should have said, Congratulations JW, you've managed to secure a great group there (I think you know that already). _________________ Green Army position 10 2007/08

We popped in U Turn last night and although that type of music is not my flavour, they are a great band, couldn't help liking it.
Twas a good night.

The band playing in Take 5 (Kho Takiab) on Saturday night were excellent. Not sure if they're gonna be a permanent fixture. They play a kind of Reggae / Jazz.
IMO the band who used to play in the Gene pub (curently playing at Butterfly Rock?) are great on a one-off night, but I think they need to find new material. Its the same stuff week in week out. Gets a bit repetitive and boring.
Has anyone ever been to a Thai run bar near the railway station which has live music? I was there a few years back and the band were first class!
Great to see Johnnie Walkers & U Turn making an effort to put on live music too. |

our rigt Jockey that was one of the problems at gene pub, they played every night ands had no time to learn new stuff. They are learning new tracks now, they played Crossfire by SRV first time last week at a big party at Mongkol driving range - they also have a couple of new ZZ Top tracks and some fresh Deep Purple. A few of us give them CDs and track lyrics for them to learn. If there are any tracks that you think they may be good at (bear in mind they are 4 piece) the cut the song and lyrics and we can get it to them.
Cheers,
JW |

That's great to hear JW cos' theres no doubt the bands got talent. Nice blokes too! Much as I LOVE 70's rock music, I would like them to play more up-to-date stuff such as Lynkin Park / Gorrilaz / Muse / Keane / The Fray / Kaiser Chiefs / Snow Patrol / Beck / Pearl Jam / Green Day etc...
OK - I'll pick one - How about Kaizer Chiefs "Oh My God I Can't Believe it - I've never Been this far away from home!" |

Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire for me.
Shouldnt take them long to learn The Fray, they've only had 1 hit. |
