I've just arrived 1 1/2 months ago, and have been wondering whether the expats in Hua Hin meet regularly for a glass of beer or 2..
Will anyone be interested if we organise a date in a bar or somewhere, where we can meet and give newcomers some opportunity to get to know you all?
Let me know, if there's good responds, we can do something exciting |

^ I'm not sure we allow sober members in at the HHAD bashes, tigger. Have to consult the rule book on that one... _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? But, can they suffer?" - Jeremy Bentham, philosopher, 1748-1832

I find this attempt to be funny very offensive and not funny at all.
It is discriminatory against both gay people and recovering alcoholics of which I know quite a few here in Hua Hin.
This forum has hitherto appeared open and welcoming to all and in a land where people tend to "live and let live" with regards to sexual matters and personal habits I wonder why this post has been made and allowed.
If HHAD is indeed a discriminatory organization on any basis (other than being a troll?) then I really dont want to be here. |

Chas,
I agree!!!
I think he was trying to be funny.
I have friends who are gay and I know many people who dont drink much alcohol including my wife.
An apology is needed here. _________________ You only live once. |

Please don't blame us for comments the public post on an open forum.
That said, Farang, we really don't condone these kinds of comments even if (as I know) you were joking they can be considered offensive so kindly refrain.
Thanks.

Thanks Lev.
I appreciate the clarification and also want to clarify my post.
Because this comment was made in this forum in the context of an (official???) "HHAD bash" from someone who seems to have attended one. ..it carried . . .in my opinion. . . just a bit more weight than an idle comment by someone with public prejudices. . .to which I probably would not even have responded.
I have never been to an HHAD bash. I will try to attend the next bash to see how things are for myself.
I have often been curious about all my fellow "posters" as I have never met, to my knowledge, a single one of you. (Funny, I have a picture of each of you in my head. . which is probably nothing like you. Be interesting to see how close I have come.) |
