|
|
Always avoided getting a home PC as I'm stuck in front of the things most of the time at work and I thought I was heading to LOS in the next few months.
But miracle upon miracle (in one sort of way as I hate it here now), it looks like Tone is still going to allow current public servants (I hate that term) to retire at 50 - another 18 months for me - and just where did my life go and why I am still doing the things I did as a kid and why don't people act their age anymore and why shouldn't I get back what I have paid into for the last 31 years (before you have a pop at me)?
Anyway, I'm going off thread, I thought it would be good to get a basic laptop to avoid the trek to the internet cafe, which I hate and to avoid using the work PC when I really shouldn't.
Now, I am not a techie - but if I do get one, can I take it to Thailand to use when I move? Or are there problems with compatibility, voltage and so on? Do I need to consider this when I buy one, is there anything I need to look for?
Any advice on a reliable but cheapish laptop for basic usage, surfing the net, keeping in touch with the fiancee, emails and word docs, nothing more than that really?
Many thanks. _________________ I know nothing |

No problem bringing your gear from UK.
Buy it home, test it home --- use it here in HH.
Get an Acer - Fujitsu or whatever.
Look other treads on this board for further info regarding wireless solutions and so on. |
