Anyone here with good experience about Koh Samui? Not really in terms of a vacation location but how it compares to HH in terms of an expat location to live. i,e, costs, facilities, things to do, bar life, women etc. Thanks. Pete
PS: IMHO, the further south you get the woman seem to lose the Lao and Chinese characteristics of women around BKK and Pattaya, replaced by Malay. Makes for a bit taller and some very good looking fluff. |

Been there a few times for holidays away from HH and have made a couple of observations:
Location: Its an island and getting on and off is always going to be a hassle.
Costs: More expensive than HH due to the above. Property prices and rentals are also significantly more expensive.
Facilities: More available than HH, they have pretty much everything on the island including a proper sized Tesco/Lotus and an airport that works!
Things to do: Better beaches, waterfalls, animal parks, scuba diving, other islands, golf. But all at tourist prices.
Bar Life: Makes HH look like Eastbourne.
Women: Aparently there are a few of these scattered around also. |

I'm not qualified to comment on many of your headings but I did enjoy a woman or two in Koh Samui last January.... You don't need to search hard, they'll approach you very often, sometimes with a rather familiar "handshake" |
